UTILITIES

Utilities will be connected for customers who provide a lease/rental agreement or property owners who provide proof of ownership along with proof of identification. This applies to Residential and Commercial properties.

Any property that the electric service has NOT been active for 6 months or more requires an electrical inspection through The City of Jackson. Service will be connected once property is permitted for power.  Fee is $75

A $30.00 APPLICATION FEE will be charged to customers requesting utility service.  The utility deposit amount is based on the On-Line Utility Exchange/Experian.  This is a “soft-hit” and will not affect your credit rating. Deposit will be based on current approved schedule.  $50 or $100 for water only.  $0, $175 or $350 for both water and electric.   

A contract for service must be completed and signed with one copy for customer, and a duplicate for The City of Jackson. The back of the contract declares the terms and conditions.

GARBAGE SERVICE

GARBAGE SERVICE is optional. The City of Jackson can provide a garbage cart with once a week pick-up The cart is $14 per month. Any additional cart is $5.25. The City contracts Waste Management for this service. Any bulk waste that does not fit in the cart with the lid closed will be assessed a fee to be determined by The City of Jackson.  Contact The City for more information on bulk debris fees. Yard debris (leaves & small limbs) can be placed curbside for free pick up.

 

A $25 TRANSFER FEE will be charged to customers moving from one location to another within The City of Jackson utility territory. The credit application will be re-run and any additional deposit must be paid if required.  Deposits will move with the transfer. An additional application fee is NOT required.
